Historical Note
The U.S. Highway 12 expansion project worked towards changing the original two-lane divided highway in Walla Walla, Washington into four lanes. Efforts to expand the road began in the early 2000s. The first phase was completed in August of 2004.
Content Description
The U.S. Highway 12 from Walla Walla to Wallula Project Oral Histories houses oral history interviews with Walla Walla area residents concerning the expansion of U.S. Highway 12. They were led by Heather Miller on the behalf of the Washington State Department of Transportation. The interviewees include J. Frank Munns, Daniel Nelson Clark, Lawrence Lowden Dodd, Alvin Adams, and Claro, Betty and Russell Bergevin. The interviews date from November 10, 2005 to December 6, 2006.
