Historical Note
The Pacific Northwest Medical Association was founded in the summer of 1922 in an attempt to knit together the medical communities of 5 American states and 3 Canadian provinces. Oregonians had their due representation. In the period under discussion 3 Oregonians served as President of the Association: J. Earl Else of Portland (1923), Charles T. Sweeney of Medford (1936), and Matthew Riddle of Portland (1942). Others participated in the meetings.
Content Description
One document box with several files pertaining to the organization: a Constitution and Bylaws; correspondence concerning an exhibit in an upcoming meeting; and 10 years worth of conference programs.
