Biographical Note
Heber Jeddy Grant was born on November 22, 1856 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Jedediah M. and Rachel Ridgeway Ivins Grant. As part of his service to the LDS Church, Heber Grant opened the Japanese Mission in 1901 and presided over it until 1903. He then became President of the Twelve in 1916 and finally President of the LDS Church in 1918. Heber J. Grant died in 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
