The Occidental Hotel Records contain guest registers from the hotel (1885-1901) which were reused by the Buffalo Pharmacy to hold prescriptions (1901-1906). These prescriptions have been pasted over some of the register pages. In addition, one book’s pages were also reused as a scrapbook to hold recipes cut from women’s magazines of the same time period. The collection also contains ledgers and a journal (1901-1914) most likely from the Buffalo Pharmacy which was owned and operated by T. James “Jim” Gatchell, the medical prescription records from the Buffalo Pharmacy, and a ledger (1884-1888) belonging to Munkres & Mather, horse and mule team freighters. The ledger belonging to Munkres & Mather was originally used from 1884 to 1888 and then later used for unknown business or businesses, dated 1913-1926.
