Historical Note
Wormser (1894-1981) worked as an independent mining engineer from 1925-1947 before becoming an executive with St. Joseph Lead Company from 1947-1953. From 1953-1957 he was Assistant Secretary of the Department of the Interior for mineral resources. Wormser returned to St. Joseph Lead Company in 1957 and after 1961 was an independent mining engineer.

Collection contains correspondence (1921-1967, bulk 1957-1967); miscellaneous maps; photographs of Wormser; 1 scrapbook; speeches by Wormser (1954-1958); miscellaneous materials relating to St. Joseph Lead Company; and 1 reel-to-reel audio tape of a press conference with Wormser (1956).
