Historical NoteReturn to Top

This zine was produced in 2022 by three social work students at Portland State University as a response to sex education instruction in Oregon. Although the state developed the sex education curriculum to be inclusive, the zine's creators believed many schools in Oregon still either left out information or taught the curriculum in a way that included homophobic and transphobic undercurrents. The zine was distributed at the 2022 Pride parade in Astoria, Oregon.

Content DescriptionReturn to Top

The collection consists of a 41-page black-and-white zine concerning sexual activity and gender identity. Topics discussed in the zine include sexual and romantic attraction, pronouns, gender dysphoria and gender euphoria, consent, suggestions on how to make sexual intercourse more enjoyable, safe sex, and ethical communication. Stickers for The Harbor and for North Coast Connection, both of which are organizations based in Astoria, Oregon, are on the zine's front cover.
