Historical Note
The Utah Peace and Freedom Party (1967-1970) was established during the era of tensions in the United States during the Vietnam War. The Utah Peace and Freedom Party was a branch of the National Peace and Freedom Party, which was established in about twenty states. The platform of the party stressed concerns over the Vietnam War, racism, and the testing of biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons.

The Utah Peace and Freedom Party records (1961-1969) contain various documents concerning the party. Most of the documents are from 1968. Among these are correspondence, a political platform, biographical material, ballots, notes, political documents, newsletters, and newsclippings. Other items include "The Patriot's Handbook" and "The Subversive's Handbook."
