Historical Note

The University of Wyoming-National Park Service (UW-NPS) Research Center was formed after the National Park Service joined with the Jackson Hole Biological Research Station (founded in 1948). The research center was established to foster research in National Parks in the Rocky Mountain Region. In addition to its headquarters on the University of Wyoming campus in Laramie, the center operated a field research station at the AMK Ranch in Grand Teton National Park.

The collection contains research from the University of Wyoming-National Park Service Research Center relating to national parks and forests around the Rocky Mountain region. The collection also includes news clippings, reports, research projects, brochures, photographs, slides, negatives, VHS tapes, minicassettes, and weather reports for the predecessor organization, the Jackson Hole Biological Research Station.
