- The Don Lind photograph collection contains research materials regarding experiments conducted by Lind in association with NASA during his tenure as professor at Utah State University. These experiments include the Interstellar Gas Experiment (1984-1990) and Space Lab III (Auroral Observations, 1983-1987). The collection also contains thirty-two photographs of the Aurora Borealis as seen in Alaska, September 1984. This collection is entirely digitalized and available online in our Digital Library.

Content Description
Don Lind graduated from the University of Utah in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. He later did doctoral work at the University of Berkeley where he received his Ph.D. in High Nuclear Physics. Lind did experimental work with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and was selected as a NASA astronaut in 1966. In 1985 Lind retired as an astronaut to teach Physics at Utah State University. This collection contains research materials regarding experiments conducted by Lind in association with NASA during his tenure as professor at Utah State University. These experiments include the Interstellar Gas Experiment (1984-1990) and Space Lab III (Auroral Observations, 1983-1987). The collection also contains thirty-two photographs of the Aurora Borealis as seen in Alaska, September 1984.
