Historical Note
Charles Wayne Kerwood (1899-1976) was an American aviator. He was trained as a pilot at the Bleriot School and became a member of the Lafayette Escadrille during World War I. He was a barnstormer and volunteer in the Greek-Turkish war in the 1920s. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps intelligence division. He remained active in aviation until retiring in 1965.

The collection contains correspondence (1918-1976), photographs, reports on civil and military air operations, articles and manuscripts by Kerwood, scrapbooks, and other materials related to aviation and to Kerwood's career.
