Historical Note

Wyoming Public Radio began in 1966 at the University of Wyoming as KUWR. Shortly thereafter, Congress passed the Public Broadcasting Act creating National Public Radio, of which Wyoming Public Radio would become a member. The station offers NPR programming, state news, arts and culture reporting, music, and more. It broadcasts to over 90% of Wyoming and remains a service of the University of Wyoming.

This collection contains audio cassettes, reels, and discs related to Wyoming Public Radio interviews and broadcasts. There are also manuscript materials related to Mathew Shepard and artifacts from Robert Beck, a former news director of Wyoming Public Radio.
