Historical Note
Lewis Allen (1905-2000) was a film director and executive of West End, Broadway, and London stage productions for Gilbert Miller. After two years of study of motion picture production with Paramount, Allen became a film director in 1943. He directed films including The Perfect Marriage (1946), Desert Fury (1947), The Uninvited (1944), and So Evil My Love (1948). Allen also directed television productions such as Perry Mason, The Big Valley, Mission: Impossible, and Little House on the Prairie.
