Bell C. McLean was a conservationist and educator. He was also involved in the activities of the Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of America.

Content Description

Collection contains photographs of conservation education in schools and in the Boy Scouts; slides and pictures of soil conservation, erosion, and other phenomena in the Dune area of Dalhart, Texas, various soil scientists, geological formations near Thermopolis, Wyoming, and a view of Mount Rushmore in South Dakota; a booklet titled Soil and Water Conservation in Wyoming; a certificate awarded by the Boy Scouts of America to B. C. McLean in appreciation of successful operation of the 1960 Jamboree at Colorado Springs; numerous leaflets concerning water supply and soil conservation in Wyoming and Nebraska; and a cartoon of the U.S. Soil Conservation Service.
