Historical Note

The Chicano Studies Program was an interdisciplinary field offered at the University of Wyoming. They provided individuals with the opportunity to study Chicano people throughout the United States of America and the world. Most courses focused on the history, culture, media, and life from ancient times to present day. In 2014, the program changed its name to Latina/o Studies.

Content Description

The collection contains a documentary produced by Dwayne Gallegos and Marcus Madrid in 2000. It teaches the history of Chicanos, which includes migration patterns, discrimination, folklore, and life within the community. The collection also contains Chicano Studies program and administrative material, documentation, events, academic information, and various digital educational and entertainment electronic media.
