Content Description

Collection consists of specifications and 12 sheets of plans for a residence in Portland, Oregon, designed by the architecture firm Shepley, Rutan, and Coolidge of Boston, Massachusetts. The house was designed for Lewis H. Mills and Elinor Lawrence Mills, and built at 655 Irving St. (now 2039 NW Irving St.) Numbering on the sheets suggests the architects drew 21 sheets of plans, but only sheets numbered 9-19 and 21 are included in this collection. These are: Framing plans for the first floor and second floor; plans for the attic floor framing and the framing between the second floor and attic; a roof framing plan and a revised roof framing plan; 3/4-inch scale plans for the exterior finish, details of the first-story hall, and details of the second-story hall; detail plans of the interior finish; detail plans of the china closet and fence; detail plans of the finish in the dining room and living room; and section plans.
