Historical Note
The Tacoma Lutheran Service Center was a facility in Tacoma offering recreation, fellowship, and social services to armed forces personnel of all faiths. It was created and administered under the governance of the Lutheran Service Commission, a cooperative agency of the National Lutheran Council and Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod, for service to military personnel. The Tacoma Lutheran Service Center was located at 117 ½ South 10th St. in downtown Tacoma, and closed in 1969.
Content Description
This collection includes correspondence, treasurer’s reports and financial records, publicity, papers from Lutheran conferences, newsletters, memos, meeting minutes, minutes of Ladies Auxiliary meetings, monthly reports, programs, advertisements, publications, and member lists.
