Biographical Note
Garrett was a botany professor who taught for East High School and Brigham Young University (BYU). He was consulted by various professors and botanists around the nation for his authority in Western American flora. Besides teaching, Garett also did work in regards to plant identification and classification both privately and through various agencies.

The A. O. Garrett papers consist of his book Spring Flora of the Wasatch Front. The book contains annotations by Garrett for the next edition of his work. Also included in this collection is his correspondence related to his private life and professional career.
