Historical NoteReturn to Top
Cort Conley, the author of Idaho for the Curious, was born in Berkeley, California. He earned a bachelor's degree and Jurisprudence Doctorate from the University of California before moving to Idaho in 1972. During his professional life he was a house painter, book representative, forest fire lookout, river guide, writer, editor, publisher of books and literature director for the Idaho Commission on the Arts in 1998. Idaho for the Curious was his most popular book. He has also written "The Middle Fork and the Sheepeater War" and "Idaho Loners: Hermits, Solitaries, and Individualists". Conley moved to Idaho in 1972.

This collection contains research notes and drafts for Conley's book, Idaho for the Curious (1982). This collection contains a guide to history in a geographical contest. This collection contains important information about Idaho both from history and the present day. The structure of the collection is based on a series of essays about individual highways. This order system makes it useful for road trips.
