- Howard Campbell served in the Second World War and later worked in the glass industry as a chemist. Helen Henthorne Campbell grew up in the Wyoming plains and attended the University of Wyoming eventually graduating in 1949. This collection contains their personal memoirs and two books related to the history of Howard's division and regiment during the War.

Historical Note
Howard Campbell was born in 1923 in Sheridan, Wyoming. During the Second World War, he was drafted into the United States Army, and served as a combat medic in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany with the 104th Infantry Division, known as the Timberwolves. After the War, he attended the University of Wyoming and graduated with his master’s degree in Chemistry. Upon leaving the University, he began work in the glass industry where he worked until his retirement at 65. Howard passed away in 2016. Helen Henthorne was born December 7, 1928 in Pennsboro, West Virginia. In 1932, she, along with her parents, moved to Wyoming to homestead on free land. She graduated from high school in 1945 and headed to the University of Wyoming where see graduated with her bachelor’s degree in 1949.
