Biographical Note

Charles A. Bartleson came to Spokane in 1904, where he worked as a bookkeeper for the Idaho Lime Company. Beginning in 1915, Bartleson worked for Consolidated Supply Company, which began his career in the lumber and building materials industry. At the time of his death in 1953, Bartleson was president of Building Supplies, Inc.

Content Description

The diaries contain brief daily entries of Bartleson’s activities, 1909-1937. Often the entries only list “Reading at home in eve”, or “Susan & I went to see ‘Her Boss’ in eve at Liberty”, but he frequently went into greater detail about social and other events.
