Historical Note

Eugene Hamilton Storer was born on October 30, 1876 to Amos and Hannah Storer in Boston, Massachusetts. He studied under Geo. J. Parker and Charles A. White. He was also a graduate of the New England Conservatory in Boston and was a student of Orestes Bomboni.

Eugene worked at the University of Idaho as an instructor in vocal culture, choral work, and public school music. He was a director of the Glee Club, the String Trio Club, the Cecelian Choral Society, the University Treble Clef Club, and was a member of the Moscow Choral Society. He passed away on January 19, 1946 in Spokane, Washington.

Content Description

Eugene Hamilton Storer was a professor of music at the University of Idaho from 1911 to 1919. This collection contains various correspondence between his brother Robert Storer, and his mother, Hannah Storer. It also includes a photograph of Eugene from the Hardy Artist Photographer company in Boston dated October 25, 1896. There are a few newspaper clippings as well as tax forms and other such papers.
