Historical Note
The Showboat Theatre Foundation was founded in 1985 to advocate for the restoration of the Showboat Theatre, a floating theatre venue that sat on the University of Washington's Portage Bay waterfront. The foundation conducted relocation studies, collected donations, and shared informational flyers about the historical importance of the theatre. In 1994, the foundation disbanded after they were unsuccessful in their efforts and the Showboat Theatre was demolished.
