Historical Note
Northwestern Ice and Cold Storage Company was founded in 1923 by Waldemar F. Henningsen, Sr., the company would expand into the Pacific Northwest with operations in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. These photographs show the cold storage plant located in Portland, Oregon. The plant was located between SE Belmont and Morrison Streets on First Avenue.
Content Description
Photograph album 23x32 cm contains nine large black and white prints 19x26 cm each. Photographs include images of ice being moved between cold storage, trucks, trains, and cars. Includes several images of the Portland Union Pacific rail yards.
