Content DescriptionReturn to Top
Box 1 Folder 1 contains a photograph album containing black-and-white photographs. The album was likely compiled by S.K. "Red" Droubay or an associate and depict chromium mining operations, including pictures of workers, faculities and machinery. The primariy locations depicted are Benbow and Mouat Chromium mines, mills, and camps, both located in the Beartooth Mountains in Stillwater County, Montana.
The photographs are well identified with captions: some are handwritten in pencil beneath the images, presumably by the compiler. Other images have typewritten captions on onion skin paper. In addition to photographs, the album contains a loose newspaper clippings detailing the mining operations.
