Historical Note
Kaper (1902-1983) was born in Poland and worked as a composer in Germany and France before immigrating to the U.S. in 1935. He worked as a composer for the motion picture industry until the 1960s, mostly for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
Content Description
Collection contains 2 pieces of correspondence (1965); and scores for orchestral music and several motion pictures composed by Kaper, including "Bataan," "Glass Slipper," "Lili," "Lord Jim," "Mutiny on the Bounty," "Them!" and "The Brothers Karamazov" (1923-1965).
