Biographical Note
Floyd Morgan was born in 1910 and earned an MA in theater from the University of Iowa in the 1930s. For over 40 years, Morgan was a professor and at one time department head of the Theater Arts Department at Utah State University. His wife, Edith, was employed as a journalist at Logan's Herald Journal, and she was also an active supporter of the theater.
Content Description
This collection consists of the prompt books for plays produced at the Old Main Auditorium, Lyric Theatre, Chase Fine Arts Center, Morgan Theatre and USU amphitheater in Logan, Utah. The collection is arranged chronologically and consists of plays produced between 1935 and 1979.
Box 11 holds some realia and box 12 carries a letter to Edith Morgan from Daryl Chase, president of USU. It also holds a news clipping and materials for the play Look on the Land produced for Cache Valley's Centennial. These materials include programs, posters, scripts, and the prompt book for the production.
