Historical Note

Harry Geller was a music conductor, band leader, and composer in the television industry between the 1950s and 1970s. Frequently working with the Harry Geller Orchestra, Geller conducted music on numerous popular television shows, including "The Tennessee Ernie Ford Show" and "Daniel Boone." He also composed music for a number of other television shows, including "The Wild Wild West" and "Cimmaron Strip."

Content Description

The collection contains television musical scores composed, conducted, and arranged by Harry Geller and played by the Harry Geller Orchestra. Most of the collection is comprised of scores for "The Tennessee Ernie Ford Show." It also contains scores composed by Harry Geller for numerous other television series, including "Arnie," "The Baileys of Balboa," "Bracken's World," "Cimarron Strip," "Custer," "The Danny Thomas Hour," "The Dick Van Dyke Show," "The Felony Squad," "The Flying Nun," "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir," "Gunsmoke," "The Guns of Will Sonnett," "Hawaii Five-O," "I Spy," "Judd, for the Defense," "Lancer," "Land of the Giants," "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis," "Mission: Impossible," "The Odd Couple," "The New Phil Silvers Show," "The Patty Duke Show," "Rawhide," "That Girl," "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea," and "The Wild Wild West." Also included are some television scripts, including several drafts of "Tennessee Ernie Ford Meets King Arthur," an episode of the anthology series "Startime." There are also musical scores and related documents for a few television commercials.
