Biographical Note
Josephine Ensign is a professor at the University of Washington School of Nursing, where she teaches health policy, public health, and health humanities. Her research focuses on health inequities among marginalized populations, particularly those affected by homelessness and poverty. Ensign has authored several works, including Catching Homelessness: A Nurse's Story of Falling Through the Safety Net (2017), which was named the American Journal of Nursing's Book of the Year for creative works, and Skid Road: On the Frontier of Health and Homelessness in an American City (2021), a finalist for the Washington State Book Award.
