Daniel Stephen Halacy (1919-2002) was an author and aviator. After serving in the Army Air Corps during WWII, Halacy entered the field of aircraft construction. Halacy served as an Arizona state senator from 1967 until 1970. In 1979, he took a job with the Solar Energy Research Institute in Golden Colorado, working there until 1984.
