Historical Note
Norton was a writer and wrote screenplays for several movies including "Scalphunters," "Hunting Party" and "The MacKenzie Break." Norton was a communist for a number of years and was called to appear before the House Committee on Un-American Activities in 1959. He wrote and published short stories and a few articles on labor and social reform.
Content Description
Collection consists of Norton's subject files relating to various writing projects and containing correspondence, manuscripts, outlines and other miscellaneous materials. The scripts for "Scalphunters" and "Hunting Party" are included. Subject files also contain personal correspondence and other materials including family letters.
