- The first half of the Seiko and Sumi Oki Arakaki photograph collection consists of photos of Seiko Arakaki as a member of the 442nd and the 100th Battalion during World War II. The focus of the collection then shifts to Bushnell hospital in Brigham City, Utah and the OK Cafe in Salt Lake City's Japan Town which was owned by Sumi Oki Arakaki's family. The last two images in the collection do not follow chronological order, and are of a Boy Scout troop and baseball team.

Content Description
The first half of the Arakaki collection consists of photos of Seiko Arakaki as a member of the 442nd and the 100th Battalion during World War II. The focus of the collection then shifts to Bushnell hospital in Brigham City, Utah and the OK Cafe in Salt Lake City's Japan Town which was owned by Sumi Oki Arakaki's family. The last two images in the collection do not follow chronological order, and are of a Boy Scout troop and baseball team.
The entire collection consists of digital scans taken from photo albums which were returned to the Arakaki family. The following descriptions were taken directly from the albums.
The original images were loaned to the library and were scanned and then returned to the donor. These images are available online. The image files can be requested, but the library no longer has the original images.
