Summary
The Zella Skidmore McEntire papers (1923-1996) reflect her activities in church, in school, with her family, and her interest in politics. Zella (1912-2000) was a teacher in both the primary and secondary school systems. She married Eldon McEntire in 1935, and besides raising their children and teaching, was very involved with many clubs, groups, and organizations.

Historical Note

Zella Skidmore (1912-2000) was born in Logan, Utah, on 15 June 1912. She received a B.A. in education from the University of Utah in 1932, and subsequently taught in the public schools at both the primary and secondary levels. Zella married Eldon McEntire on 28 December 1935. In addition to teaching and raising her children, Zella was active in community service projects. She was affiliated with the Legislative Council, the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, the Salt Lake City and University of Utah Mother's Clubs, the Salt Lake Council of Women, Phi Mu Sorority, and the Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She died in Salt Lake City on 1 March 2000.
