Biographical Note

Anthony Wartnik is a retired superior court judge. He was born to an Ashkenazic family in Los Angeles, California in 1938 and attended Santa Monica City College before moving to the Bremerton, Washington area. He attended Olympic Community College before transferring to the University of Washington in Seattle where he would complete his undergraduate studies and go on to obtain a law degree in 1963. After passing the bar exam, he worked as a trial attorney in the law office of Clay Nixon and later represented personal injury clients in the firm of Kadish & Kane. He won a seat in the Bellevue District Court in 1970 and went on to the King County Superior Court in 1980. His first wife Norma was a member of the Sephardic community in Seattle and they had two children, Howard and Felicia. After Norma's death from breast cancer in 1988, he later married his second wife Lynn, who had children Russell and Tamar. Anthony wartnik retired from the judiciary in 2005 and has since served as an adjunct professor at Concordia University in Saint Paul, Minnesota in the Forensic Behavioral Health program. He has been affilliated with various congregations in the Seattle area, and as of the time of this interview was a member of Herzl Ner Tamid.

He also talks about his family, and his affiliation with different Jewish Synagogues.
