- Carrie B. Wood, a Quaker missionary to India from 1908 to 1948, kept a diary for over 60 years, spending her last years at Friendsview Manor in Newberg, Oregon. She compiled a handwritten list of the deaths of Friendsview residents from 1961-1967 in the final pages of her diary.

Biographical Note
Carrie B. Wood was a missionary to India from sponsored by the Ohio Yearly Meeting of Friends Missionary Board from 1908-1948. Born in Michigan in 1880, she moved to Portland, Oregon, with her family in 1905. She arrived in Bombay, India, in February 1908 and returned to Oregon in 1948. Her final years were spent at the Friendsview Manor, Newberg, Oregon.
Content Description
Carrie B. Wood was a missionary to India sponsored by the Ohio Yearly Meeting of Friends Missionary Board; the diary records a log of travel and daily life while she was a missionary from 1908 through 1948. After returning to the United States, she continued recording in her diary, adding some original poetry and devotional writings. In 1961 Carrie Wood moved to Friendsview Manor, Newberg, Oregon. The final pages of the diary list of the deaths of Friendsview residents from 1961-1967.
