Historical Note

Bud Collyer (1908-1969) was a television producer, director, and radio actor. He became known for his personality as a game show host on television game shows such as Beat the Clock and To Tell the Truth. Collyer was also well-known in his role as Superman and Clark Kent on the radio and, later, on television.

Collection contains brochures about Bud Collyer as “Best Announcer on Television” and on the radio quiz show called Break the Bank; photographs of Collyer with the Beat the Clock staff, on To Tell the Truth, and with other entertainment notables; and a script for “Adventures of Superman.”
