Historical Note

The College of Science was formed on July 1, 1970 when the College of Letters and Science was split into the Colleges of Humanities, Science, and Social and Behavioral Science. Between 1970 and 1991, the College was administered by the following deans: Pete D. Gardner (1971-1974), Frank E. Harris (1974-1975), E. Allan Davis (1975-1976), David M. Grant (1976-1985), Joseph L. Taylor (1985-1987), Hugo Rossi (1987-1989), and Bill Gray (1989-1991).

Content Description

This collection contains brochures, budgets, correspondence, memoranda, minutes, news articles, proposals, reports, and surveys from the Office of the Dean of the College of Science. 7 linear feet of the collection consists of material from the four departments of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Approximately 3.75 linear feet of the material is from the Frontiers of Science Lecture Series. An additional linear foot is from the National Cold Fusion Institute.
