Biographical Note

Hella Skowronski was born in 1905. She was a textile designer and weaver, the first weaver to use dacron fiber. Skowronski was a nationally known weaver who designed window coverings used widely in the U.S. The Henry Gallery Textile Collection has a collection of her design samples. Hella Skowronski died in 1988.

    The Henry Gallery Textile Collection has a collection of her design samples. She documented her textile collection with Steve Froemming who also interviewed her about her career in 1986. Froemming was hired by the Henry Gallery for this purpose.
