- Eleven black and white photographs of the exterior of the Emil C. Jorgensen house at 1805 NW Glisan St. in Portland, Oregon. Jorgensen (1851-1923) came to Portland in 1872. He was the director in the planning of the Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition in 1905, and he opened the Lenox Hotel in 1907.

Biographical Note
Emil C. Jorgensen (1851-1923) came to New York in 1870 as an orphan. In 1872, he came to Portland, Oregon. He married Pauline Landenberger in 1878 and they had two sons. He opened the Lenox Hotel in Portland in 1907, and his family ran the hotel until 1930. He was also the director in the planning of the Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition in 1905. His son Edwin was the first person to drive an automobile from the west coast to the east in 1912.
