Historical NoteReturn to Top

Combined Metals Reduction Company (CMR) was a mining company organized on October 5, 1923, as a Utah company. It was principally engaged in the development of flotation processing for complex lead-zinc ores of the Pioche Mining District in the vicinity of Pioche, Nevada, and its Park-Bingham mine at Bingham. The Combined Metals company had a mill at Bauer, Utah with a capacity of 1,000 tons per day and a mill at Caselton, Nevada with a capacity of 1,600 tons a day. Pioche, Lincoln County, Nevada milling operations ceased in 1957 and by the early 1970s CMR filed for bankruptcy.

E.H. Snyder was a mining economist and engineer. He joined Combined Metals, Inc. in 1915, and in 1923 he became president and general manager when control of the company was purchased by National Lead and changed to Combined Metals Reduction Company. In 1943, he advanced to President and in 1963, he became Chairman of the Board, a post he held until his death in 1967.
