Historical Note

William C. Hine was a University of Wyoming graduate student. He received his masters degree in history and participated in the University of Wyoming, American Studies program during its early years. Hine became a professor of history at South Carolina State University and an accomplished author.

Content Description

The collection contains Hine’s class notes and work, booklets about the University of Wyoming American Studies Program and The Western History Research Center, University of Wyoming basketball and football programs, and pamphlets and maps for the Snowy Range and Medicine Bow National Forest from the 1960s when Hine was a student at the University of Wyoming. The collection also contains a textbook, “African Americans, A Concise History” co-authored by Hine from 2014.
