Content Description

Twenty-five leaves from incunabula and other early European printed books, approximately 1475-1600. The leaves are from Bibles, liturgical books, a book of hours, works of theology, and the Nuremberg Chronicle. The materials provide examples of Renaissance type design and other features commonly found in books of the period, including rubrication, two-color printing, hand-coloring, watermarks, glosses, marginalia, manicules, and printing on vellum. Detailed descriptions of each leaf are available in the collection.
