Biographical Note
Edwin M. La Bounty (1927-1996) was a faculty member in the Department of Music at Western Washington University from 1968 to 1989. He guided the music composition program from its inception until his retirement. La Bounty earned his doctorate in composition, as well as bachelor's and master's degrees in music with a concentration in piano performance, from Indiana University. He also held a bachelor's degree from Yankton College. Before coming to Western Washington State College (now WWU), La Bounty worked for six years as professor of piano and composition at Memphis State University.

This collection consists of manuscript scores of musical compositions by Edwin La Bounty. One LP recording features him as a performer on piano.
