Historical Note

The Teton National Forest and Bridger National Forest merged in 1973 to create one forest system known as the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The forest consists of over 3.4 million acres of public land in Northwest Wyoming.

Content Description

Collection contains correspondence; files concerning the Jackson Hole Monument; grazing reports; range allowances; history of the forest and the Jackson Hole Elk Herd; insect and disease control project documents; two volumes of scrapbooks about the history of Teton National Forest; and nearly 2,000 time-record diaries kept by Teton National Forest Service employees between 1957 and 1964.
