Historical Note
Parkinson was with the Columbia University law school from 1910-1935, specializing in administrative law and legislative drafting. He was president (1927-1953) and chairman (1953-1954) of Equitable Life Assurance Society and served on the boards of several other corporations.

Collection contains correspondence (1909-1959); subject files containing notes, newspaper clippings, publications, legal opinions and briefs, reprints, and correspondence, chiefly on administrative law and legislation; speeches; notebooks; scrapbooks; books and articles by Parkinson; 11 78 rpm phonograph records of Parkinson's speeches; and biographical information.
