    This box includes drawings by an unknown artist and photos which may be family members.

  • Description: Correspondence, Francis D. Wormuth

    This correspondence dates from 1964-1981 and is primarily with other scholars, publishers, and some political figures including Barry Goldwater.

    Diana is the only child of Francis and Mary Wormuth. She has lived abroad for many years and wrote frequently to her parents.

    These are Wormuth's handwritten notes for his last book which was co-authored by Edwin Firmage. It was not published until 1986.

    Titles on folders include the Arms Race, Act of War, Commander-in-Chief, Congressional War Power, Presidential Emergency Power, War Powers Act. These files appear to contain material he used in writing To Chain the Dog of War.

    This material seems to reflect his broader research interests and is not specifically directed towards the publication of his book as noted above. Titles include Administration, Administrative Law, Behaviorism, China, Congress, The U.S. Constitution, Equity Statutes, Lyndon Johnson, Political Behaviors, Jean Paul Satre, Values System, Voting, Vietnam, and World Economic Events.

  • Description: Miscellaneous

    Although most of the material could not be catagorized and includes notes by Wormuth and others. There is one folder titled The Young American For Freedom which contains material about members of the group attempting to have the University of Utah terminate the position of Wormuth because of his "subversive" ideas. Wormuth received much support from others including Utah's Republican Senator Wallace Bennett, a noted conservative.
