Historical Note
William Robert Moore was a writer and photographer. He published his first article in National Graphic Magazine in 1927. Moore continued to contribute articles and photographs to the magazine until 1963. He ended his career at National Geographic as chief of the foreign editorial staff, becoming chief emeritus in 1967.

Collection contains biographical information; and subject units containing notes, bibliographies, articles, photographs, drawings, itineraries, galleys and manuscripts, maps, and correspondence for trips to regions throughout Africa, Asia, Australia, Great Britain, South America, Europe that provided source material for National Geographic Magazine articles.
