Historical Note

Faye Glover Petersen was born November 27, 1914, in Midvale, Utah, to Albert Glover and Clara (Erickson) Glover. Petersen was the second of seven children. She attended and graduated from Jordan High School and LDS Business College. An aspiring vocalist, She met LaMar Petersen, teacher of piano and organ, at the McCune School of Music in Salt Lake City. They were wed June 7, 1937, and spent their first year of marriage in New York City, where LaMar was a student at Juilliard School of Music.

Settling on the avenues in Salt Lake City, LaMar and Faye raised six children. Petersen went to work in 1958, first in the Department of Education and then at Zions Bank, where she remained for more than 20 years.

Petersen enjoyed traveling and had a great appreciation for nature. She was a prolific poetess.

Petersen died January 20, 2009.
