Content Description

The topics included in this collection are academics, administration, alumni, athletics, buildings and grounds, events, the Extension Division, faculty, state government, and student life. The majority of the clippings are from the major newspapers in Salt Lake City, but articles from newspapers of smaller communities throughout the state of Utah are also included.

Administrative Information

Arrangement

The collection is arranged into the following series: Academics, Administration and General History, Alumni, Athletics, Buildings and Grounds, Events, Extension Division, Faculty, Government, Student Life, and Oversized. Some of these series are further divided into sub-series. All series are arranged alphabetically.

Acquisition Information

This collection was culled from thirty two cubic feet of scrapbooks that the University had commissioned with news clipping services. Between 1999 and 2012, a collaborative effort was made with the Preservation Department to remove the clippings from the books and neutralize the paper's acidity. They were then returned to University Archives to be processed.
