Historical Note
John Nutter was the Staff Assistant to the Vice President of Student Affairs at the University of Wyoming. He began his tenure at UW in 1984 as the administrative assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs and later served as Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships. During his career, Nutter contributed to numerous university initiatives, including chairing Staff Senate, participating in the Institutional Review Board, coordinating international exchanges, and administering both the Northern Arapaho Endowment and the Chief Washakie Endowment Scholarship programs. He also chaired the dedication committee for the Chief Washakie “Battle of Two Hearts” statue. Beyond the university, Nutter served as treasurer for the Rocky Mountain Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and was inducted into its Hall of Fame. He was active in the Laramie community through the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Laramie Plains Museum, and Wyoming Territorial Prison events.
Content Description
This collection contains information about American Indian education at the University of Wyoming, about events on the UW campus, about the Chief Washakie Statue and the Student Union Mural, and about student affairs on campus. Also included is scholarship information, photographs, and publications related to scholarships and institutes at the university. There are CDs related to the partnership between UW and Shanghai University, as well as DVDs related to both the Washakie Statue and the mural in the Student Union.
