This collection contains two short sketched vignettes in watercolor, outlining the experience of UO students after the end of World War I. The vignette "Over Here" (1918) describe the day-to-day experiences of Marion Gilstrap of Eugene, Oregon during World War I. The second vignette "When the Boys Came Home" (1919) depicts the expectations versus reality of returning home after the war, through the eyes of an unknown soldier. Places and subjects relating to Eugene featured in this vignette are Villard Hall, the Register Guard, the Rainbow Cafe, and the Fairmont Loop Society.
